Evella Cheramie

Evella “Belle” Felarise Cheramie, 84, a native and resident of Golden Meadow, La. died Monday, November 12, 2007, at 9:49 p.m.

She is survived by her three sons, Nelson Cheramie, Sr., Terry Cheramie, Sr., and Daniel Cheramie, Sr.; two daughters, Anna Cheramie Hebert and Merlene Cheramie Sunday; two brothers, Gilbert and Jimmy Felarise; two sisters, Inez “Bee Guidry and Laura Mae Bergeron; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Cheramie, Sr.; her parents, Ferdnand and Eleana Felarise; one daughter, Nora Lee Cheramie; two brothers, Ezaman and Norman Felarise; and one sister, Enola Guidry.

Evella was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow. She was a member of the Ladies of La Salette Alter Society and the Golden Meadow Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Visitation is Wednesday, November 14, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. She will be buried in the church cemetery.
