Florence McGahee Mitchell

Florence McGahee Mitchell, 88, a native of Pittsburg, Tx., and a resident of Larose, La., died at The Butterfly Wing at Ollie Steele Burden Manor at 7:10 a.m. Saturday, July 5.

She is survived by one daughter, Theresa H. Rodgers and husband, R. Dennis Rodgers, of Prairieville, La.; one son, David W. Evans of Baytown, Tx.; five grandchildren, Lisa Evans Boudreaux of Morgan City, La., David M. Evans of Baytown, Melissa Rodgers Snoddy of Baton Rouge, La., Mitchell Rodgers of Prairieville and Megan Rodgers of Prairieville; five great-grandchildren, Evan David Boudreaux, Kyle Boudreaux, Reese Leonard, Janie Rodgers and Madeleine Snoddy; special friend, Earline Chouest; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Mitchell; and her brothers and sisters.

She was a former cashier at National Food Store and former assistant manager at Ledet’s Supermarket in Larose.
