Gayle Scott Authement, 58, a native of Houma, La., and a resident of Chauvin, La., died Saturday, August 9, at 3:30 p.m.
She is survived by her mother, Hazel Scott; sons, Floyd and wife April Fanguy Jr., Jerome and wife Jill Fanguy and Troy Rogers; brothers, Albert Scott III, Paul Scott and Joseph and wife Jerry Ann Scott; sisters, Betty and husband Russell Gautreaux and Lucy Smith; and nine grandchildren, Jody, Bradley, Zachary, Scotty, Kassey, Saddey, Cody, Sara and Dillin.
She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Magnus Scott Jr.; son, Edgar Fanguy; daughter, Regina Duplantis; grandson, Joshua Fanguy; and granddaughter, Angel Fanguy.
She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin and enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with mass to follow. She will be buried at the church cemetery.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
