George Walter Franklin, 77, a native of Centreville, Miss., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died Friday, Oct. 2, at Audubon Guest House in Thibodaux.
He is survived by five sisters, Bessie Parnell and husband James of Kenner, La., Irene Graves of Lockport, La., Johnnie Pearl Foster and Bernadine Everett and husband Earl of Memphis, Tenn., and Earnestine Thompson and husband Charles of Marrero, La.; two brothers, James Franklin and wife Irene of Fayetteville, N.C., and Clarence Hays Franklin and wife Niler of Oxford, Miss.; two stepsons, Andrew “June” Triggs and Austin Triggs of Thibodaux; and his long-time devoted friend, Audrey Robinson and his former wife Louelle Triggs of Franklin, La.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Ann Singleton Franklin; and one brother, John Henry.
He was a member of Moses Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Moses Baptist Church in Thibodaux with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
