Gertrude Pitre Bourgeois, 97, a native of Bourg, La., and resident of Raceland, La., died Friday, Nov. 19, 2010.
Ms. Bourgeois was a lifetime honorary member of the Council of Catholic Women of St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Julie Sapia, Bonnie Bouvier and Annette Bourgeois; sisters, Marion Chiasson and Emma Louise Touro; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fernand Bourgeois; parents, Clarence and Victoria Savoie Pitre; stepmother, Ismae Savoie Pitre; daughters, Patricia Bourgeois and Frances Babin; six brothers, Floyd, Hudson, Donald, Bobby, Leslie and Gerald Pitre; four sisters, Genevieve Broussard, Florence Eschette, Anna Mae Breaux and Frances Pitre.
She is buried at Holy Savior Cemetery.
