Gilbert Smith, 52, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, December 16.
He is survived by his daughters, LaQuanda Smith and Nicole Smith; brothers, James Smith, Nolan Smith Jr., Walter Lee Smith, Cloud Smith, Freddie Smith Sr., Anthony Robertson, Tony Smith and Lamone Smith; sisters, Esta Mae Nora Smith, Fannie Zachary, Silvia Jones, Lexcin Jones and Erica Robertson; and grandchild, N’Korey Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nolan and Gienieve Smith; brothers, Willie Smith and Robert Lee Smith; and sisters, Mary Ann Smith, Lorienne Smith, Joyce Smith, Shirley Mae Smith and Beverly Ann Smith.
He was in the Army National Guard, was a diesel mechanic with NREC and enjoyed fishing.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, December 22, at Community Funeral Home with the funeral services to follow. Burial will be at Southdown Cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
