Thibodaux church finds its place after 10-year expansion
January 12, 2010Gillis F. Parria Sr., 70, a native of Lafitte, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010.
He is survived by his companion, Geraldine Cunningham; sons, Gillis Jr. (Nancy), Michael (Tona) and Danny (Kim) Parria I; daughter, Renee Pellegrin; daughter-in-law, Lisa Ledet Parria; brother, Louis Parria Sr.; sisters, Shirley Rogers, Patricia Touchard and Elizabeth Kerner; nine grandchildren, Ryan (Mindy) Pellegrin, Rennie (Kyle) Duplantis, Troy (fiancée Aimee Duet), Trey, Nicholas (fiance’ Karen Dean), Mindy, Danny II and Candace (fiance’ Ronald Pierre) Parria and Jacob Foret; and six great-grandchildren, Madison Claire and Ryland Pellegrin, Nicholar Jr. and Kylie Pellegrin, Kole Duplantis and Reilly Pierre.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Renell Adams Parria; parents, Francis and Ella Mae Adam Parria; and grandparents, Gilespie and Gertrude Adam.
Mr. Parria is buried at Adam’s Cemetery in Lafitte.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
