Glenn Douglas Newsom

Glenn Douglas Newsom, 62, a native of Ville Platte, La., and resident of Bayou Jack, La., died at 7:17 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012.

Mr. Newsom was a U.S. Navy veteran. He served on the U.S.S. John F. Kennedy during the Vietnam War. He loved playing country and bluegrass music and enjoyed the outdoors.

He is survived by his children, Nichole (John) Taylor, Amanda (Reggie) Thibodeaux and Canaan Newsom; brothers, Alton (Dorthy), Charles (Jane) and Bobby (Peggy) Newsom; sister, Sharon (Mark) Hatfield; companion, Dianne Trimble; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Marjorie Newsom.

Burial was at Turkey Creek Cemetery. (Ibert’s)
