Gregory “Greg” Perry Loney, 57, a native of Oskalossa, Ia., and a resident of Houma, La., died Monday, April 21, at 6:05 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Kraemer Loney of Houma; son, Trent P. Loney and wife Tammy of Raceland, La.; daughter, Jenny M. Loney of Lafayette, La.; his father Roy O. Loney; stepmother, “Aunt” Ruth Loney of Knoxville, Ia.; brother, Michael “Mike” Loney and wife Lola of Houma; sister, Michelle C. Wambolt and husband Marc of Phoenix, Az.; grandchildren, Triston P. Loney and Tanner P. Loney; mother and father-in-law, Chester P. and Deloris Kraemer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Timmy and Robin Kraemer, Debbie and Mark Chatagnier and Eddie and Sandra Kraemer; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, LaVeda Irene Shives Loney.
He worked for Oceaneering International with HSE and was a U.S. Navy veteran serving aboard the USS Noxubee AOG56 during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and American Legion Post No. 0031. He was a loving husband, father, son, son-in-law and grandfather “Pops.” He loved his job and was an avid fisherman and football fan. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations for medical expenses are preferred.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 24, at Chauvin Funeral Home with a religious service to follow Thursday. He will be buried at Rogers-Matherne Cemetery.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
