Harold Charles Guidroz Jr., 69, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2006.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Raceland.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Eileen Gaudet Guidroz of Raceland; two sons, Charles “Chuck” Guidroz and wife, Rayne, of Raceland, and Harold “Chip” Guidroz III of Thibodaux, La.; three daughters, Mary Guidroz Saunier and husband, Tal, of Houma, La., Annette Guidroz Braud and husband, Jody, of Houma, and Amy Guidroz Chiasson and husband, Matthew, of Thibodaux; two sisters, Millie Guidroz of Raceland and Ruth Guidroz Lasseigne of Raceland, and seven grandchildren, Megan Chiasson, Jacob Braud, Brandon Saunier, Brooke Saunier, Ashley Guidroz, Nicholas Braud, and Joshua Guidroz.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold C. Guidroz Sr. and his mother, Mildred R. Guidroz.

For 44 years, Harold was an expert carpenter. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid football fan of Tulane University. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially weekends at his camp or gardening at his home. He also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casinos.

He was a Catholic and a parishioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Bayou Region Hospice, 195 Corporate Drive, Houma, La. 70360.
