December 9, 2010Hayes James Porche Sr., 89, a native of Bayou Dularge, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010.
Mr. Porche was a cook at Louisiana Land for 31 years and a Mess Sergeant while in the Air Force Reserve. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, past volunteer at Terrebonne General Medical Center and Heritage Manor serving as a minister of communion. He was awarded the Bishop’s medal. He served in the Air Force Reserves during the Korean War. He was a parishioner of St. Eloi Catholic Church.
He is survived by his sons, Hayes Jr. (Diane), Glenn (Marylin), Dean, and Philip Sr. (Margo) Porche; sister, Jeanette Porche; 16 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Marie Babin Porche; parents, Leonce Sr. and Vivian Pye Porche; and two brothers, Leonce Jr. and Frank Porche.
He is buried at St. Eloi Catholic Church Cemetery.
