Henry Albert Swiber Sr.

Henry Albert Swiber Sr., 89, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Morgan City, La., died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011.

Mr. Swiber was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a Grand Knight in 1983 and 1984.

He was a retired employee of the City of Morgan City who loved gardening, fishing, and most of all, spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marie Swiber; sons, Henry Jr. (Dianne), Michael (Paula) and Dennis Swiber; daughters, Patricia (Ray) Autrey, Marie (Rodney) Fromenthal Denise (John) Ritchie and Barbara (James) Strader; 20 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Constant and Johanna Swiber; three brothers; four sisters; and son, David Swiber.

Burial was at Morgan City Cemetery. (Twin City)
