
Haiti’s hardship helped by local charities

February 15, 2010Horace “Hoy” Peter Sevin, 66, a native and resident of Chauvin, La., died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010.
He is survived by his companion, Patricia Bladsacker; sons, Horace (Arlene) and Carl (Cindy) Sevin; daughter, Cheryl (Adrey) LeBouef; brothers, Willis and Phillip Sevin; sisters, Mrs. Loney (Wilma) Foret, Mrs. Donald (Susan) Yelverton and Hilda Kissel; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Odilia Foret Sevin; parents, Dolphis and Lois Matherne Sevin; brothers, Willard, Joseph and Edward Sevin; and sisters, Elma, Alice and Wilda Sevin.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin. A Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the church.
Mr. Sevin will be buried at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
