Houston Cheramie, Sr.

Houston J. Cheramie, Sr., 81, a native and resident of Galliano, La. died Tuesday, October 31, 2007, at 2:55 a.m.

He is survived by his wife, Rosa Cheramie; one son, Houston Cheramie, Jr.; one daughter, Mary Lee Boynes; two stepsons, Billy and Zachary Leonard; one stepdaughter, Patsy Curole; two brothers, Duroc Cheramie and Ronald Cheramie; one sister, Ella Mae Alario; five grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Duard and Hazel Hebert Cheramie; and three brothers, Eule, Cliff, and Claudet Cheramie.

Houston was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.

Visitation is Thursday, November 1, 2007, from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Friday, November 2, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano, with the funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. He will be buried in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.
