Howard Coupel, 79, a native of Assumption Parish and resident of Raceland, La. died Friday, December 14, 2007.

He is survived by his son, Michael Coupel and his wife Terry; one brother, Allen Coupel; one sister, Mildred Coupel Hebert; two grandchildren, Nicole Chaisson and her husband Andre and Michael Coupel and his fiancée Rachel; three great-grandchildren, Destyni Chaisson, Brittani Chaisson, and Hannah Coupel; and two step grandchildren, Tyler Billiot and Grant Billiot.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Hebert Coupel; his parents, Joseph and Rosalie Sauce Coupel; and four brothers, Harry Douglas, Clifton, and Alex Coupel.

Howard was a World War II veteran and served his country as a United State Navy Airmen and a United State Army Paratrooper.

Visitation is Monday, December 17, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, December 18, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland, with the funeral to follow at St. Mary Catholic Church. He will be buried in the church cemetery.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
