Humphrey John Shortridge Sr., 86, a native and resident of Labadieville, La., died Saturday, January 19, 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Eloise H. Shortridge; children, Roxie S. Benoit, Cynthia S. Scott, Karen Anne Shortridge and Edward C. Dorsey; stepson, Darryl A. Hawkins; daughter-in-law, Mahailia C. Shortridge; and grandchildren, Thalia and Natalie Shortridge and Isaac Benoit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Odile B. Shortridge; son, Humphrey J. Shortridge Jr.; and brother, Edward Shortridge Sr.
Humphrey was a U.S. Army Veteran and a parishioner at St. Philomena Catholic Church.
Visitation is 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2008, at Williams & Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville, La., and 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2008, at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Labadieville with the funeral to follow. He will be buried in the church cemetery.
