May 25, 2011Irene Allemand Charpentier, 81, a native and resident of Galliano, La., died Wednesday, May 18, 2011.
Mrs. Charpentier loved cooking for her family and was a loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Lincoln Joseph Charpentier; daughters, Gail Charpentier and Lynn (Eldon) Callahan; four grandchildren, Nicol Merrifield, Jessica Barnes, Nicholas Gaston and Tyler Callahan; three great-grandchildren, Holly and Jayce Merrifield and Stephen Huerta; son-in-law, David Gaston; brothers, Jimmy and Eno Jr. Allemand; and sisters, Jeanne Ledet, Melda Dufrene, Jenny Savoie and Emily Collins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eno Sr. and Alfacia Brunet Allemand; son, Roger Dale Charpentier; daughter, Jacqueline “Jackie’ Gaston; and sisters, Rilda Gisclair and Vera Callais.
She is buried at Cheramie Cemetery. (Falgout)
