James “Matt” Madison Griffith, 58, a native of Whitwell, Tenn., and resident of Houma, La., died Monday, Feb. 24, 2014.
Mr. Griffith was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandkids. He enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle and was a charter member of Bikers Against Child Abuse. He was a QHSE coordinator for U.S. Land at Schlumberger Completion for 32 years.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Griffith; daughter, Kristi (Trevor) Murphy; parents, Elvin Jr. and Dollye Griffith; sister, Natalie (Greg) Elliott; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virgil and Willie Mae Logan and Elvin Sr. and Myrtle Griffith.
Burial is in Whitwell. (Chauvin)
