Jeanette Randall Young, 79, a native of Mathews, La., and resident of Raceland, La., died Sunday, July 12.
She is survived by one daughter, Delores Hudgins of Brooklyn, N.Y.; five sons, Wayne Charles of Norfolk, Va., Alvin Charles of Mesquite, Texas, Eugene Charles of New Orleans, La., Warren young Jr., of Raceland and Flored Young of Arlington, Texas; one brother, John Randall Jr. of Raceland; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Sr. and Irene Randall; two daughters, Gwendolyn Gebremenin and Beverly Hicks; one brother, Peter Randall; two sisters, Irene Foster and Delores Hudgins; and grandparents, Beulah and Willie Broom Sr.
She enjoyed singing, sewing, and playing the piano and organ.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, at Morning Star Baptist Church in Raceland with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
