Jeanette Whiting Bryson, 95, a native of Story, Okla., and resident of Morgan City, La., died Friday, July 22, 2011.
She worked for Drs. Askew and Gadow, assisted in secretarial work for her church and volunteered at her children’s school functions. She was an accomplished seamstress and homemaker for her family. She regularly attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Morgan City until failing health kept her homebound.
She is survived by her sisters, Louise Clark, Ruby Bigelow and Ellen Lyons; children, Sherman (Sylvia), Patricia and William (Becky) Whiting; grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Beulah Lewis; first husband, Arvin Whiting; second husband, Ray Bryson; sister, Margaruite Mueller; and brother, Glenn Lewis.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, July 25, and 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, at Hargrave Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Baptist Church followed by interment at Morgan City Mausoleum. (Hargrave)
