Jeanne Mahler Guidry, 76, a native of Kraemer, La., and a resident of Raceland, La., died Sunday, February 1, at 12:21 p.m.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ignace “Heavy” Guidry; sons, Norman “Pegeon” Guidry and wife Pat, and Cleveland “Lil P” Guidry and wife Dawn; brothers, Vincent Mahler, Alidore Mahler, Albert Mahler, Butley Mahler and Lester Mahler; sisters, Mabel Morvant, Gert Simoneaux, Henrietta Landry and Frances Ruelet; one grandchild; four step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Florestine Durocher Mahler; brothers, Norman Mahler, Claude Mahler and Henry Mahler Jr.; sister, Louise Constant; and one granddaughter.

She was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed sewing, playing bingo and going to the casino. She was a homemaker and a fantastic wife and mother.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, February 6, at St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church with mass to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
