Jewett (Jack) C. Burnett, 84, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Friday, July 10, at 11:18 p.m.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Nathalie Martin; two sons, Barney B. Burnett and Frank and wife Terrey Burnett; four daughters, Julie and husband Leo, Siccy and husband James, Rickie and Courtney; six brothers, Jack, Charles and longtime companion Lou, Donald, Huey, Lou and Glenn Burnett and wife Liz; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sigur H. and Sadie Giroir Burnett; one brother, Carl J. Burnett; and two grandsons, Tanny James and Spencer James Thompson Jr.
He was a World War II veteran of the Coast Guard and was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was a member of the Krewe of Flames and the proprietor of Burnett Sign Company for 58 years.
Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
