John T. Nope Jr., 78, a native of Bayou Boutte, La., and a resident of Morgan City, La., died Jan. 5, 2010.
Mr. Nope was a member of Pharr Chapel Methodist Church. A simple and humble man, he enjoyed talking with friends on the phone and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lois Templet Nope; daughter, Margaret Lynn Nope (James “Jimmy”) Dupuy; son, John (Carey) Nope; three grandchildren; Austin James Nope, Justin Allen Dupuy and Jamie Lynn Dupuy and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Nope Sr.; mother, Ophiela Nope; brothers; Charles and Lester Duval.
He is buried at Morgan City Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted along with memorials made to Pharr Chapel in John T. Nope Jr.’s name.
