Johnny Winslow, Sr., 78, a native of Schriever, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Monday January 21, 2008
He is survived by his companion, Barbara Singleton of Houma; first wife, Edna Winslow of Thibodaux, La.; three daughters, Darlene Singleton and Torey Winslow of Houma and Luppa Gilchrist and husband Tommy of Fort Polk, La.; seven sons: Johnny, Jr. and wife Regina of Thibodaux, Rhubin and wife Constance of Gray, La, Clifford of Houma, Don Winslow of Marrero, La.; Ronald James of Morgan City, La., Guy of Monroe, La. and Mykel of Amarillo, Tx.; six sisters, Ann Wallace of Metairie, La.; Carol Ballard, Rose Nell Fletcher and husband Edward; Hazel Gassery and husband Percy of Thibodaux, Daisy Harris and Albeirda Winslow of Schriever; 27 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jane & Charley Winslow; daughter, Gayle Miller; grandson, Timothy; seven sisters, Clara Bell Winslow, Antoine, Mable Walker, Ida, Emily, Evelyn and Josephine Winslow; four brothers, Earl, Welton, Herman and Lawrence.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2008 at New Magnolia Baptist Church with the funeral to follow. She will be buried at Halfway Cemetery
Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
