17-year-old arrested for shooting mother

Jose Isabel Lopez, 79, a native of Mexico and a resident of Houma, LA., died at 12:55 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006.
Visitation will be from 10 to 1 p.m. funeral time Thursday at Samart Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Rogers Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Silvia Lopez; 4 sons, Alberto, Juan, Marcos, and Francisco Lopez; 8 daughters, Teresa, Leticia, Consuelo, Anna, Martha, Isabel, and Sylvia Lopez, and Teresita Gomez; 2 brothers, Juan and Antonio Aquilar; 3 sisters, Dominga, Carmen, and Petra Aguilar; 23 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose A. and Nieves Lopez.
Samart Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
