Joseph Babin

Joseph Anthony Babin Jr., 62, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Bayou Blue, La., died at 10:35 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2011.

Mr. Babin was a devoted husband, loving father, son, brother and beloved grandfather who is dearly loved and will be deeply missed. He was a brother of Boyce Masonic Lodge 273, The Unity Lodge 267 and Jerusalem Temple. He was a member of Houma Shrine Club and the Houma Shrine Motorcycle Escort Club.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Ann Boudlouche Babin; mother, Marceline Babin; son, Joseph (Caitlin) Babin III; daughters, Bonnie (Anthony III) Rodriguez and Cheryl (Robbie) Duplantis; four grandchildren, Jonathan Babin, Keith Alario, and Alyssa and Sebastian Duplantis; brothers, Lonny (Jennifer) Babin and Jason Babin; and sister, Ena (Fred Jr.) Carreras.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Anthony Babin Sr.; his infant sister, Valerie Agnes; his paternal grandparents, Berwick and Ophelia Babin; and his maternal grandparents, Henry and Alice Detiveaux.

He is buried at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery.
