Joseph “Man” Johnson, 93, a native and resident of Gray, La., died Thursday, January 3, 2008.
He is survived by his daughter, Elouise J. Harding; seven grandchildren, Louis Harding, Leroy Harding, Elwood Harding, Ethel Swan, Aleeta Harding, Danielle Harding, and Connie Walker; 12 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Reed Johnson; parents, Melvina Rainey Johnson and Alex Johnson; son, Joseph Johnson, Jr.; two brothers, Alex Johnson, Jr. and Samuel Johnson; and three sisters, Albertha Richard, Ethel Finley, and Olivia Prosper.
Joseph was a member of Eagle Wright Baptist Church. He was also retired from the Terrebonne Parish School Board.
Visitation is Friday, January 11, 2008, from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with the funeral to follow at Eagle Wright Baptist Church. He will be buried at Allen Chapel Cemetery in Thibodaux, La.
