Joyce Fanguy Babin, 82, a native of Little Caillou, La., died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012.
Mrs. Babin retired after 26 years of service with the Terrebonne Parish School Board as a food service manager – a job which she adored. She had a heart of gold and was a loving wife and very devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Babin; daughters, Sabrina (Jacob) Fitch and Kathleen (Herbert) Deroche; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Telemac Pellegrin; son, Glenn Pellegrin; parents, Justin Sr. and Sadie Fanguy; and sisters, Dora Heaverlo, Elizabeth Zeringue and Judith Thibodeaux.
Visitation will be 12 to 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Chauvin Funeral Home with Liturgy of the Word to follow. Interment will be at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. (Chauvin)
