Advocate leads area panel for disabled
May 2, 2011Joyce Ellen LeBlanc Neil, 85, a native of Grand Caillou, La., and resident of Houma, La., died at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011.
Mrs. Neil was a devoted educator who regularly and fondly recalled her 36 years of teaching in Terrebonne Parish public schools. She was a faithful Catholic, a compassionate lover of animals, and a benefactress of many causes.
She is survived by her stepsons, Timothy and Daniel (Gwynne) Neil; stepdaughters, Suzette (Herbert) Carreker, Patricia (Craig) Hutchinson and Mary Neil; six step-grandchildren, Michelle Patin, Rene and Paul Carreker, Stacie Fanguy, Parker Hutchinson and Sean Neil; and two step-great-grandchildren, Austin Patin and Lindsey Carreker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Malvin Neil; seven siblings, Raymond, John, Rene and Clifford Jr. LeBlanc, Pearl LeBoeuf, Hazel Chauvin and Eunice LeBlanc; and parents, Clifford and Lelia LeBlanc.
She is buried at Terrebonne Memorial Park. (Chauvin)
