Downed economy, cold makes hard job tougher

Juanita May Legendre Blanchard, 70, a native of Chackbay, La., and a resident of Schriever, La., died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010.
She is survived by her husband, Charles James Blanchard Sr.; sons, Charles Jr., Donald and Ramon (Elizabeth) Blanchard; daughters, Bonnie (David) Roten and Wendy Gaudet; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Janice Folse and Vanessa Mahler; and brother, Christopher J. Mahler.
She was preceded in death by her father James Legendre; mother, Jeanne L. Mahler; and stepfather, Vincent J. Mahler.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Christian Assembly in Schriever with the funeral service to follow.
Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
