Junius “J.C.” Charles Smith, 82, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Gray, La., died Friday, July 27, 2007, at 4:20 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Irma Malbrough Smith; two sons, David Joseph Smith and his wife Linda, and Keith Paul Smith and his wife Christine; four grandchildren, David Smith Jr., Brian Smith, Christy Meli and Claire Smith Chaisson; and five great-grandchildren, Michael Smith, Brianna Smith, Karee Beth Smith, Payton Chaisson, and Lily Grace Chaisson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence P. Smith and Lena Domangue Smith; four brothers, Alvin, Milton, Clarence Jr. and James Smith; and two sisters, Margie S. Guidry and Ruth S. Authement.
Junius was a devout Methodist and a member of First Methodist Church of Bayou Blue. He was a United States Navy Veteran and served his country during World War II. He was a retired barge supervisor for McDermott for 25 years.
He is buried at Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery in Houma.
