Lenhard Fontaine, 74, a longtime resident of Houma, La., and resident of Mandeville, La., died Sunday, July 15, 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Petit Fontaine; his children, Allyce Fontaine Juenke and her husband Michael, Lenhard J. Fontaine Jr. and his wife Chantel, and Lillie Marie Fontaine; five grandchildren, Nathan and Lauren Juenke, Felicia, Olivia, and Steven Fontaine; and one brother, Raymond G. Fontaine and his wife Maxine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eura Voorhies and Jean P. Fontaine; and one brother, Jean P. Fontaine.
Lenhard was a loving husband for 51 years of marriage to his wife Joyce. He was a U.S. Air Force Medical Corps veteran based in Thule, Greenland, and was a member of the ushers and greeters ministry at Our Lady of the Lake. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 9240 and the Deacon James M. Seghers Sr. Assembly No. 2467, and a 4th degree Knights of Columbus in Mandeville. He was a graduate of Hotel Dieu and worked as a registered nurse anesthetist from 1959 until his retirement in 2005.
Visitation is Wednesday, July 18, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with the funeral to follow at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mandeville. He will be buried at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery in Mandeville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Knights of Columbus Council No. 9240 Seminarian Fund, 312 Lafitte St., Mandeville, La.
E.J. Fielding Funeral Home of Covington, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
