January 22, 2014Leola Allen-Hanzy, 81, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and resident of Gibson, La., died Friday, Jan. 17, 2014.
She is survived by her son, Frederick Hanzy; daughters, Loretta (Reginald) Clay, Cassandra (Kerry) Smith, Henrietta (Leroy) Nixon, Jessie Hanzy, Sharleen (Michel) Charles and Malerie (Jerod) Singleton; sister, Elza Burton; and 16 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Hanzy; son, Horace Hanzy Sr.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at St. James Baptist Church in Gibson with services to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Jones)
