Leola Neville Lyons, 79, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Monday, April 21, 2008.
She is survived by her sons, Warnel Lyons and wife Beverly and Stanley Lyons, Sr. and wife Debbie all of Houma; daughters, Carolyn Porche and Anna Frances Bolden and husband Layman all of Houma; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Neville and Jenny Miller; grandchild, Albert Ezra Porche; brothers, Cleveland Neville and Allen Neville; sisters, Ora Mae Carter, Eartha Neville and Cora Thomas; and grandparents, Willie and Anna Neville & Thomas Miller & Frances Bergeron Miller.
She was a member of Residence Baptist Church where she served on the Beautifying Club, Senior Usher Board, Senior Choir, Usher Board and Golden Social Aid Club. She was also a member of the LA 5h District Southern Baptist Association. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and listening to music.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at Community Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 25, at Residence Baptist Church. She will be buried at Union Benevolent Baptist Church Cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
