Leotha Dorsey Desira, 72, a native of Belle Rose, La., died Friday, Aug. 21.
She is survived by one daughter, Josie Desira of Houston, Texas; five sons, Achand Jr., Aaron and Tyrone Desira of Belle Rose, Darnell and wife Glyniss Desira of Sorrento, La., and Kentrell and wife Barbara Desira of Donaldsonville, La.; three brothers, Edward Lawrence Richards Sr. of Labadieville, La., and Harvey Sr. and Vernon Dorsey Sr. of Belle Rose; 10 grandchildren including Richie E. Desira of Houston; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Achand Desira Sr.; parents, Ophelia and Henry Dorsey Sr.; one son, Stanford Desira; one brother, Henry Dorsey Jr.; and one sister, Ada M. Dorsey.
She was a homemaker.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at Williams & Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at First Israel Baptist Church in Belle Rose. Religious services conducted by Rev. Irving Brown will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with burial at the church cemetery.
