February 19, 2014Leroy W. Ordoyne, 82, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014.
Mr. Ordoyne was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed going to the camp, cooking and traveling. He was a graduate of the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Sciences and retired general manager and funeral director for Landry’s and Thibodaux Funeral Homes. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and a parishioner of St. Joseph Co-Cathedral.
He is survived by his sons, Mark (Cathy) and Matthew Ordoyne; daughter, Mary Ordoyne; sister, Clarabel Ordoyne; companion, Barbara Gauthier; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Stella Ordoyne; son, Michael Ordoyne; brother, Daniel Ordoyne; and sister, Lois Summers.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at Landry’s Funeral Home and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. (Landry’s)
