May 17, 2012Lester James Guidry, 81, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 12:29 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012.
Mr. Guidry was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Houma Pistol Club and a past member of the Rotary Club. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and a parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lorraine Guidry; sons, James (Paige) and Arthur Guidry; daughters, Ellen Richey, Karen (Ricky) Billgren, Cindy (Michael) Daire and Patricia (Bryan) Warner; sister, Betty Clay; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elie and Estelle Guidry; and brother, Lee Guidry. (Chauvin)
