August 5, 2010Linwood “Pookie” Gros, 81, a native of Gretna, La., and resident of Mt. Hermon, La., died at 10:32 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010.
Mr. Gros was Catholic. He was a U.S. veteran of the Korean War and was a retired marsh buggy driver.
He is survived by his sons, Dale (Dana), John (Kelly) and Rory Gros; daughter, Very (Buzz) Sauerwin; sister, Doreda “Tottie” Gros Acosta; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah Francis and Heneritta Bouvier Gros; one daughter, Belinda Gros; one brother, Noah Joseph Gros; and two sisters, Reba Lagrange and Lily Lagrange.
He is buried at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
