Lorita Griffin Guidry, 79, a native and resident of Golden Meadow, La., died Sunday, January 18, at 12:43 a.m.
She is survived by her sons, Ralph and Nathan Guidry Sr.; daughters, Barbara Detillier, Tessie Kelly, Tescia Coley and Joyce Dantin; brother, Larry Griffin; sister, Nancy Lasseigne; 26 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Minus Hargrove; her second husband, Lucien Guidry; parents, Paul Griffin Sr. and Norcelia G. Griffin; son, Alton Guidry Sr.; daughter, Paula Brooks; brothers, Louis Sr., Joseph, Paul Jr., Wilkin, Norman Sr., Nolty, Dudley and Alvin Griffin; and one grandchild.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Altar Society. She was a member of the Golden Meadow Volunteer Fireman Ladies Auxiliary and was involved in the Cursillo Movement.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano, La. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow with burial at Hebert Cemetery in Galliano.
