Lorris Lathrop Sr., 89, a native and resident of Golden Meadow, La., died at 1:36 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2010.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Leona St. Germain Lathrop; one son, Lorris Lathrop Jr. and wife, Iris; one daughter, Lorra Lathrop Richard and husband, Huey Jr.; one stepdaughter, Lois Boudreaux Rousse and husband, Norman; one brother, Morrison (Lou) Lathrop; two sisters, Doris Lathrop Bouzigard and Georgiana Lathrop Gaspard; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodford Lathrop Sr. and Leoncia Coron Lathrop; three brothers, Bradford Lathrop, Davidson Lathrop and Woodford Lathrop Jr.; and five sisters, Nora Lathrop Anselmi, Eleonore Lathrop Pitre, Carrie Lathrop Cheramie, Dorothy Lathrop Sacco and Onise Lathrop Galliano.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Golden Meadow.
Burial was at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.
