Flood protection to sediment boosts initiatives
November 21, 2011Lucy Matthews Scott, 70, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Baton Rouge, La., died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011.
Mrs. Scott was Baptist and a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Lionel Scott Sr.; sons, Lionel Jr. (Michele), Twyman, Kenneth (Jessica), Darren (Esther) and Brett Scott; daughter, NiKeisha (Derrick) Scott; brothers, Isaac Matthews and Roosevelt and Ruben Thomas; sisters, Betty Williams, Joyce Hanzy, Rosetta Brown, Julia Gasery and Hattie Franklin; 21 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Matthews and Viola Moore; son, Terry Scott; daughter, Debra Scott; brothers, Robert Matthews Jr. and Albert Jackson Sr.; sisters, Louise Livas, Jenny White and Zenobia Matthews; and grandparents, Robert and Mary Celestine and Robert and Melinda Matthews.
