January 30, 2013Lydia Lirette Poincot, 91, a native and resident of Bayou Blue, La., died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013.
Mrs. Poincot was a parishioner and member of the Ladies Altar Society at St. Louis Catholic Church. She was valedictorian of the Terrebonne High School class of 1940. She was a member of the Bayou Blue Garden Club and was known as the painted pumpkin lady.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Earon Poincot; sons, Donald (Deborah) and Lloyd (Belen) Poincot; daughters, Judy Accardo and Joan (Gary) Plaisance; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Lydia Lirette; brothers, Norris and Nelson Lirette; and sisters, Ernestine Poincot and Lillian Porche.
Burial is at St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery. (Chauvin)
