Magnus Antoine Authement, 88, a native and resident of Chauvin, La., died Sunday, Oct. 11, at 5:25 a.m.
He is survived by three daughters, Elaine Fonville and husband Earl, Belinda Comeaux and Linda Theriot and husband Kenneth; two sons, Eddie Authement and Chris Authement and wife Mary; 15 grandchildren, Terry Authement (raised as his own), Pam Hills, Mary Gautreaux, Rachel Bergeron, Morty Authement, Mickie Theriot, Emily White, Katherine Voisin, Christine Theriot, Courtney Weed, Corey Authement, Gary Comeaux, Jeremy Authement, Laura Comeaux and Christopher Authement; 17 great-grandchildren, Justin, Angel, Jonathon, Sarah, Grant, Spencer, Bricelyn, Lily, Marissa, Cameron, Maggylou, Ethan, D.J., Preston, Patricia, Holden and Morgan; three sisters, Viona Lapeyrouse, Bridget LeBouef and Egnolia Dupre; and three brothers, Harry Authement, Willard Authement and Eugene Authement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louie’ Marie Authement; parents, Evest Authement and Emily Trahan Authement; two sisters, Aggie Picou and Leona Martin; and four brothers, Felton Authement, Andrew Authement, Harvey Authement Sr. and Herman Authement.
He was a commercial fisherman and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed spending time with his family, loved playing cards, hunting and watching boxing.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.
