Margaret Marie Zeringue Chaisson, 91, a native of Dularge, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Friday, Oct. 16.
She is survived by two sons, John Wayne Chaisson and wife Kathy of Houma, and Matthew Mark Chaisson and wife Sandy of Houma; three daughters, Patricia Gayle Lawrence and husband Robert of Houma, Jackie Harper and husband Barry of Houma, and Susan Chauvin of Chackbay, La.; two sisters, Marian Z. Luke of Houma, and Olga Z. Johnson of California; 12 grandchildren, Dr. T. Gregory Chaisson, Midge Chaisson, Lauren Callejas, Robbie Lawrence, Stacie (Sam) Palmisano, Heather Blanchard, Pam Breaux, Derek Chaisson, Hayley Russo, Chris Chaisson, Josh Chauvin and Zack Chauvin; 22 great-grandchildren, Sarah Smith, Brittany Chaisson, Billy Joe Palmisano, Emily Chaisson, Jacob Smith, Julia Callejas, Aaron Smith, Jordan Palmisano, Alexa Breaux, Parker Lawrence, Katie Faulk, Olivia Chaisson, Conner Chaisson, Eleana Callejas, Gillian Breaux, Rebecca Lawrence, Isabella Faulk, Hillary Chaisson, Valerie Blanchard, Victoria Russo, Whitney Russo and Marisa Callejas; one sister-in-law, Beulah Zeirngue of Houma; one brother and sister-in-law, Carrol and Lela Sigur of Houma; and Eunice Chaisson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sterling Valerie Chaisson; parents, Noah G. Zeringue and Alice Champagne Zeringue; one son, Gregory James Chaisson; one brother, Vila Zeringue; three sisters, Adele Thorsen, Lorena Vice and Rita Cobb; and one grandson, Judd Michael Chaisson.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Marie Boudreaux for being her caregiver for 2 1/2 years. Also a special thanks to Haydel Memorial Hospice and South Louisiana Home Care.
The funeral service was Monday, Oct. 19, at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church with burial at St. Francis Cemetery No. 2.
