Margie Cortez St. Amant

Margie Cortez St. Amant, 82, a native and resident of Des Allemands, La., died at 12:21 a.m. Tuesday, December 23.

She is survived by three sons, Gordon, Vernon and Marty St. Amant; one brother, Rodney Cortez; three sisters, Julia Bischoff, Ethel Conway and Leona Frazier; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald St. Amant, her parents, Marcellous Cortez Sr. and Lucia Loupe Cortez; one son, Kent St. Amant; one daughter, Shelley St. Amant Candies; seven brothers, Edward “Pedro” Cortez, Albert “Dash” Cortez, Wilmer “Red” Cortez, John Cortez, Marcellous “T-Beb” Cortez Jr., Fred “Peanut” Cortez and Elsa “Red” Cortez; and two sisters, Bertha Matherne and Carrie Ayo.

She was a parishioner of St. Gertrude Catholic Church.

She was buried at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Des Allemands.

Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
