
Lafourche Parish shows signs of slow return to normalcy

Marie Louise Martin Vincent, 89, a native of Napoleonville, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died at 11:55 p.m. Friday, September 5.
She is survived by one son, Edward “Pookie” Cedotal and wife Betty of Labadieville, La.; three daughters, Jane Cedotal Morris and husband Ed Morris, Virgie Cedotal McGriff and Betty Lou Cedotal Teuton and husband Joe of Houma; one sister, Alice Aucoin of Alabama; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emile Martin and Avida Bourg Martin; her foster parents, Emile Lauland and Eloise Martin Lauland; three brothers, Jeffery Martin, Emile Martin and Brownell Lauland; and three sisters, Mable Bergeron, Cyrelia Prejean and Mildred Martin.
The family would like to give special thanks to Heritage Manor of Houma, for all the good care and Hospice of St. Catherine. Thanks to all the nurses and aids who took good care of her.
She loved to paint and garden. She was a good and kind mother always there for us children. She was former waitress and owner of Marie’s Restaurant in Napoleonville and owned several restaurants in Napoleonville.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 18, at Chauvin Funeral Home with services to follow. She will be buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
