Marie “Nanan” Louise Boudoin Poiencot, 86, a native and resident of Houma, La. died Saturday, July 14, 2007 at 11:20 a.m.
She is survived by two sons, Edward Poiencot Jr. and his wife Madonna and Michael James Poiencot and his wife Paula; two daughters, Earline Cunningham and her husband Roy and Barbara Jones and her husband Mike; two brothers, Lloyd Boudoin and Raymond Boudoin; two sisters, Ella Mae Buquet and Kathy Louis; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; six step-granddaughters; 15 step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors that she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Poiencot Sr.; her parents, Joseph Boudoin and Odile Bergeron Boudoin; one daughter, Mary Lee Smith; four grandchildren, Wanda Battise, Pam Luke, Lisa Boquet and Joshua Poiencot; one great-grandchild, Jenny Boquet; two brothers, Felix Boudoin and Harold Boudoin; and one sister, Rita Theriot.
Marie was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houma. She was a homemaker and a member of East Park Ladies Auxiliary. She was a dedicated mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend.
Visitation is Wednesday, July 18, 2007, 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She will be buried in the church cemetery.
Chauvin Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
