Martha Shantell Verdin, 31, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Gray, La., died Sunday, August 3, at 1:34 p.m.

She is survived by her mother, Marie Lillian Pierre Verdin; step-father, Adam Paul Bourg; father, Clarence J. Guidry Sr.; daughters, Sierra Marie Verdin and Shontay Lynn Verdin; brothers, Paul, James and Joseph Verdin; two half-brothers; and sisters, Rebecca Verdin and Rachel Chaisson.

She was preceded in death by her half-sister, Cheryl Marie Verdin.

In lieu of flowers, donations for funeral expenses would be appreciated.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, August 8, and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, August 9, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, La. She will be buried at New Hope World Outreach Cemetery in Houma.

Samart Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
