December 31, 2009Mary Barrios Purcell, 89, a native of Larose, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at 9:36 a.m.
Mrs. Purcell was a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, and was a member of St. Gregory Ladies Altar Society. She worked for 17 years in medical records at Terrebonne General Medical Center.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Purcell Jr.; daughter, Patrice Bordelon; one grandchild, Eric Sandoz; nieces, Loretta Boudreaux and Lou Ann Bruce; and nephew, Leroy Barrios.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Purcell Sr; parents, Philocles Barrios and Movilia Lerille; daughter, Marie Purcell; sisters, Elva Cheramie, Velma Ledet and Elvire Barrios; brother, Elvest “Brass,” Ivy and Joseph Barrios; and nephew, Blaise “Sonny” Ledet Jr.
She is buried in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
