Mary Mathews Thomas, 62, a native of Thibodaux, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011.
Ms. Thomas was a member of Moses Baptist Church.
She is survived by her mother, Eula Mathews; daughters, Janice and Leslie Thomas and Touannette (Reginald) Jones; sons, Adam (Wendy) and Delaney (Cheryl) Thomas; devoted companion, Henry Miller; brothers Harry Jr. (Mary), Charles Sr. (Brenda), Lionel, Robert Sr., Hurley, Ulysses, Michael Sr. (Sharon), Ronald and Gary Mathews; sisters Rebecca and Eula Mathews; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Mathews Sr.; sons, Keith, Ernest and Russell Thomas; sisters, Audrey Allen and Lela Arcement; grandparents, Rebecca Johnson and Hurley Chevis; grandson, Donald Thomas; and goddaughter, Shanta Allen.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, at Moses Baptist Church in Thibodaux with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at Moses Cemetery No. 2. (Kennedy)
